Andrea Carlile receives national New Forensics Educator Award


Andrea Carlile, Director of Forensics, was  awarded the Bob Derryberry Award for Outstanding Contributions from a New Forensics Educator by Pi Kappa Delta. Receipients of the award are nominated by  Pi Kappa Delta members and selected by the Pi Kappa Delta National Council.

Carlile is in her second year as Director Forensics at SDSU. Prior to her position here, Carlile was a communications consultant in Washington, D.C.  Carlile received her Master’s in Communication Studies from SDSU in 2009 and served as the Assistant Director of Forensics as a graduate student. Carlile received her Bachelor’s  in Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2007.

As Director of Forensics, Carlile has coached the team to success at a regional and national level. The team is the reigning state champions for two years running and has had numerous national qualifiers.
