McEntee, Jason 571

Dr. Dennis Papini, Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, nominated Jason McEntee, English Department Head, for the South Dakota Humanities Council Board of Directors.  He was elected to serve beginning on Oct. 31, 2013.

SDHC board members hold three meetings per year at locations throughout the state and make vital decisions on Humanities policy, financing and other issues. The board includes citizens with varied backgrounds who serve voluntarily. Four members are appointed by the governor of South Dakota.

The South Dakota Humanities Council builds strong communities throughout South Dakota by providing leadership, programs and resources that advance the study of the humanities in schools, colleges and cultural organizations across the state. Each year, the Council coordinates the South Dakota Festival of Books (www.sdbookfestival.com). Board members enable SDHC to fulfill its mission by increasing awareness of and participation in the Council’s work. (www.sdhumanities.org)
