Richard Meyers, AIS coordinator, appointed to 2 national organizations


Richard Meyers, Ph.D., Tribal Relations Director and Program Coordinator and Lecturer in  the American Indian Studies (AIS) major, has been appointed to serve on two different national organizations.

He serves on the American Anthropological Association (AAA) Task Force on Cultural Heritage that produces recommendations to build a stronger, durable, and multifaceted approach to issues of cultural heritage.  AAA is the world’s largest organization of individuals interested in anthropology.

He was also elected to a 3-year term on the Board of Directors for the American Indian Studies Association. AISA, located at Arizona State University, brings together scholars from around the country to discuss important American Indian issues an annual conference in Tempe, Ariz.
