Students generate 1,080 ideas for design of one city block in Aberdeen

An article about the SDSU Architecture Department students’ project aimed at improving a portion of downtown Aberdeen, written by Jeff Bahr, appeared in the April 15 edition of the Aberdeen American News.

“A huge amount of creativity is contained within the walls of the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center gallery, all of it aimed at improving a portion of downtown Aberdeen.

“On display are more than 1,000 ideas for building an addition onto the Dacotah Prairie Museum. Architecture students at South Dakota State University came up with the ideas for the additions, which had to include space for a children’s museum.

“‘1080 Models: Aberdeen 2014’ is the name of the exhibit, which runs through Friday.”
