Very cool sign fabricated for Architecture’s Mobridge project

Architecture Department Head, Brian Rex, gives us insight into a unique facet of the End of the Line project in Mobridge

“Five of our students fabricated these pieces and took them to Fargo to watch them be galvano-electrically bathed… This one, when standing, will track the sun so that a shadow reads ‘Chicago’ on the ground in the morning and ‘Mobridge’ at the end of the day—just like the train used to travel.”

“I did the actual design work to make sure it would work.” Rex said.  “The students then took the work through fabrication and manufacture.  They succeed HUGE in it.  They do the part that they will one day oversee, not the part they will someday execute.”
